Aptiv PLC (APTV) designs and manufacturers vehicle components, and provides electrical, electronic, and safety technology solutions to the automotive and commercial vehicle markets worldwide.
It operates through two segment, Signal and Power Solutions, and Advanced Safety and User Experience.
The Signal and Power Solutions segment designs, manufactures, and assembles vehicle's electrical architecture, including engineered component products, connectors, wiring assemblies and harnesses, cable management, electrical centers, and hybrid high voltage and safety distribution systems.
The Advanced Safety and User Experience segment provides critical components, systems, and software development for passenger safety, security, comfort, and vehicle operation, such as body controls, infotainment and connectivity systems, active and passive safety electronics, autonomous driving software and technologies, and systems integration.
Shares have formed a bullish "cup and handle" following the company's latest quarterly report. Aptiv Plc (APTV) reported 2nd Quarter June 2019 earnings of $1.33 per share on revenue of $3.6 billion. The consensus earnings estimate was $1.13 per share on revenue of $3.6 billion. Revenue fell 1.5% compared to the same quarter a year ago.
The company said it expects third quarter earnings of $1.27 to $1.33 per share on revenue of $3.60 billion to $3.70 billion. The current consensus earnings estimate is $1.32 per share on revenue of $3.63 billion for the quarter ending September 30, 2019. The company also said it now expects 2019 earnings of $5.05 to $5.15 per share on revenue of $14.525 billion to $14.725 billion. The company's previous guidance was earnings of $4.90 to $5.10 per share on revenue of $14.425 billion to $14.825 billion and the current consensus earnings estimate is $4.97 per share on revenue of $14.69 billion for the year ending December 31, 2019.
