Albany International (AIN) engages in the textile and materials processing businesses worldwide.
The company operates in two segments, Machine Clothing and Engineered Composites. The Machine Clothing segment designs, manufactures, and markets paper machine clothing, and engineered fabrics and belts used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard. This segment also offers forming, pressing, and dryer fabrics; consumable fabrics used to process paper pulp; belts used to make nonwovens, fiber cement building products, roofing shingles, and corrugated sheets used in boxboard; belts used in tannery and textile applications; and nonwovens, including diapers, personal care and household wipes, and fiberglass-reinforced roofing shingles.
It sells its products directly to customer end-users, which include paper industry companies, nonwovens manufacturers, and building products companies. The Engineered Composites segment offers custom-designed composite structures based on proprietary technology to customers in commercial and military aircraft engine and airframe markets.
