Our capacity was also constrained by two equipment failures at our Nevada facility during the first quarter which resulted in the loss of two production lines for over thirty days each. We will experience reduced throughput in Nevada during the second quarter as well, but we expect the reduced throughput and related expenses to be behind us by the end of June."

BA | Hot Stocks14:36 EDT Boeing says didn't intentionally or otherwise deactivate disagree alert on MAX - Boeing issued the following statement on the 737 MAX disagree alert: "We want to provide a response to several news stories yesterday and today reporting on the disagree alert on the 737 MAX. Boeing included the disagree alert as a standard feature on the MAX, although this alert has not been considered a safety feature on airplanes and is not necessary for the safe operation of the airplane. Boeing did not intentionally or otherwise deactivate the disagree alert on its MAX airplanes. The disagree alert was intended to be a standard, stand-alone feature on MAX airplanes. However, the disagree alert was not operable on all airplanes because the feature was not activated as intended. The disagree alert was tied or linked into the angle of attack indicator, which is an optional feature on the MAX. Unless an airline opted for the angle of attack indicator, the disagree alert was not operable. On every airplane delivered to our customers, including the MAX, all flight data and information needed to safely operate the aircraft is provided in the flight deck and on the flight deck display. This information is readily accessible to pilots, and it always has been. The air speed, attitude, and altitude displays, together with the stick shaker, are the primary flight information indicators in the flight deck. All recommended pilot actions, checklists, and training are based upon these primary indicators, not on the AOA disagree alert or the angle of attack indicator. As the MAX safely returns to the air after the software modifications are approved and certified, all MAX production aircraft will have an activated and operable disagree alert and an optional angle of attack indicator. All customers with previously delivered MAX airplanes will have the ability to activate the disagree alert per a service bulletin to airlines. We are confident that when the MAX returns to the skies, it will be one of the safest airplanes ever to fly."

APDN | Hot Stocks09:20 EDT LineaRX says Avectas collaboration leads to increase in transfection - LineaRx announced that it has improved expression levels and survival rates of linear DNA constructs delivered without viruses or plasmids to human T cells. In collaboration with Avectas, a cell engineering technology business enabling the manufacture of cell therapies, LineaRx has achieved a greater than four-fold increase in cell survival, and a more than 50% increase in linear gene expression of a model amplicon. In October 2018, LineaRx announced an exclusive North American licensing and research services agreement with iCell Gene Therapeutics for an anti-CD19 CAR T therapy. Leveraging Applied DNA's expertise in large-scale PCR-based production and chemical modification of DNA, LineaRx will utilize its non-viral, plasmid-free platform to develop and produce expression vectors for CAR T therapies, including its own anti-CD19 CAR T therapy candidate, LinCART19. As presented at the LineaRx Analyst Day on December 6, 2018, the CAR-T gene construct upon which LinCART19 is based, led to 3 of 3 complete remissions in patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia up to 9 months at a very-low-dose in a clinical trial conducted by iCell in China under local regulations. While these promising clinical results provide evidence in the value of the genetic code utilized, the CAR T cells were transfected via a viral vector. President Trump now has up to 90 days from April 14 to decide whether to act on the matter, which can include quotas or tariffs, a timeline which concludes in mid-July. The U.S. Department of Commerce initiated a Section 232 investigation in July 2018 to determine whether the present quantity of uranium ore and product imports threaten to impair U.S. national security. CEO Christopher Jones said, "We believe that, regardless of the decision that will be made by the President, U.S. producers will benefit in the near term. The U.S. utility companies are expected to come back to the market and stock-up on fuel supplies even if the President decides to deny the petition. In the event that the decision is in favor of the Section 232 action, U.S. producers will see greater demand for domestically produced uranium. Either way, we expect the price of uranium produced in the United States to rise. The U.S. relies heavily on nuclear power for carbon free base load power. According to UxC, more than 20% of all uranium produced in the world is consumed in the U.S. Nuclear power represents the only electrical base load solution for global electric power growth driven by economic expansion and a focus on carbon reduction. MGEN | Hot Stocks07:16 EDT Miragen Therapeutics to present new remlarsen data at ARVO - Miragen Therapeutics announced data from a preclinical study of remlarsen, a microRNA-29 replacement, exploring the anti-fibrotic effects of remlarsen in the cornea of rats after corneal ulceration. The data will be delivered in a poster presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, or ARVO. Remlarsen was administered topically to the rat cornea for up to 28 days following an induced chemical burn. Eyes were scored for corneal haze, then evaluated histologically for corneal thickness and expression of a-SMA, or alpha smooth muscle actin, a marker of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and fibroblast-to-myofibroblast transition. Expression of collagen and other fibrosis-associated genes was assessed using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Remlarsen treatment accelerated the healing of corneal injury, resulting in a more rapid restoration of epithelial thickness and a reduction in stromal thickness as compared to saline-treated injured eyes. Remlarsen treatment appeared to reduce the expression of multiple collagens and fibrosis-associated genes from seven to 14 days post-injury and to reduce a -SMA protein expression in the epithelium and stroma at 14 days. Remlarsen treatment appeared to reduce corneal hazing and scarring beginning at 10 days post-burn. Dose and treatment schedule were optimized in preparation for enabling toxicology studies to support human clinical trials.

ORTX | Hot Stocks07:08 EDT Orchard Therapeutics reports clinical PoC data for OTL-300 - Orchard Therapeutics announced the presentation of the full clinical proof-of-concept data from its trial of ex vivo, autologous, hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy, OTL-300, for the treatment of transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia. The data will be featured today in an oral presentation at the 22nd American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The presentation will report the updated safety and efficacy results of OTL-300 in nine TDT patients, with severe phenotypes including beta+/beta+, beta0/beta+ and beta0/beta0, with a minimum of one year of follow-up post-treatment. All patients had high pre-treatment red blood cell transfusion requirements of greater than or equal to 200 ml/kg/yr of packed red blood cells. The study utilized a lentiviral vector containing the human beta-globin gene and a conditioning protocol with treosulfan and thiotepa. The data presented today and included in this release were analyzed as of April 2019. All nine patients met the safety endpoint of survival with follow-up ranging from 16 to 43 months. No adverse events related to the product were reported. Vector integration profiles had the expected polyclonal genomic distribution seen with other lentiviral vector mediated HSC gene therapy studies, and no evidence of abnormal proliferation or clonal dominance was observed. The primary efficacy endpoint of transfusion reduction at 12 months following treatment was achieved in eight of nine TDT patients treated with OTL-300. Of the six pediatric patients treated, four achieved transfusion independence and one showed a reduction in transfusion requirement. All three adult patients had a reduction in their transfusion requirements. As published previously in Nature Medicine, one pediatric patient did not have a reduced transfusion requirement compared to pre-treatment levels at 12 months, which was attributed to poor engraftment of the gene-modified cells.

These additional data, resulting from additional follow-up extending to 6 months beyond delivery for the neonates and infants, are consistent with the favorable safety profile of nolasiban observed during pregnancy and within the first month following birth. Previously reported data from the IMPLANT2 trial showed a live birth rate, or LBR, of 34.8% and 27.7% in the nolasiban and placebo groups, respectively, a relative 25% increase. In the subgroup of patients receiving a single embryo transfer, or SET, on Day 5, LBR was 44.8% and 33.2% in the nolasiban and placebo groups, respectively, a relative 35% increase. There were 108 deliveries resulting in 109 infants in the placebo group and 131 deliveries resulting in 136 infants in the nolasiban group. Safety follow-up in the IMPLANT2 trial included neonatal outcomes assessed up to 28 days following birth, and infant development assessed using the Ages and Stages Questionnaires-3, or ASQ-3, completed 6 months following birth. Reported maternal, obstetrical, and neonatal outcomes up to 28 days post-delivery were very similar between the nolasiban and placebo groups. These measures included incidence and type of congenital malformations, as well as the incidence of intrauterine growth restriction. At 6-months post birth, infant follow-up and developmental outcomes showed no notable differences between the nolasiban and placebo groups in terms of ASQ-3 domain score, total score, or percentage of infants with at least one domain score below the respective cut-off value. Overall, Phase 3 IMPLANT2 trial results demonstrated that nolasiban increased rates of ongoing pregnancy and live birth following SET, with no safety concerns identified in either mothers or infants.
