We expect GE's future actions on deleveraging and/or monetization of its investment in BHGE to sustain leverage under 4x in the event of no health care transaction. In the event of the anticipated health care transaction, we expect leverage to reduce below 3x to offset the loss of business diversification from eliminating health care. Financial policy therefore will be the key determinant of the financial risk profile; our base case with or without the health care transaction is a 'BBB+' rating. The stable outlook reflects our view that credit metrics and cash flow will improve from 2018, notwithstanding key execution risks over the next two years because of cash from asset sales, and no returns of capital to shareholders."

INO... | Hot Stocks13:07 EDT Inovio spikes higher after positive data published - Shares of Inovio (INO) are spiking higher after the company announced the publication of results in a major cancer journal, from a study of MEDI0457. TREATED WITH MEDI0457: According to an earlier statement from Inovio, a paper published in a major cancer journal detailed results of a patient with head and neck cancer treated with MEDI0457 achieved a sustained complete response on treatment with a subsequent PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor. In the Inovio-sponsored study of 22 patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, the company reported 91% showed T cell activity in the blood or tissue. MEDI0457 -- formerly called INO-3112 -- was in 2015 licensed to MedImmune, the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca (AZN). These immune data, as well as the financial terms of the license agreement, have been previously reported by Inovio. STUDY SUPPORTS HPV AND ONCOLOGY PROGRAMS: Inovio CEO Dr. J. Joseph Kim said, "We are buoyed by the study as it lends support to all of our HPV and oncology programs. These data demonstrated that Inovio's technology based in MEDI0457 can generate durable HPV16/18 antigen-specific peripheral and tumor immune responses. The study supports our belief that this approach may be used as a complementary strategy to PD-1/PD-L1 inhibition in HPV-associated head and neck and other types of cancer to improve therapeutic outcomes. Inovio is collaborating with MedImmune as well as Genentech (RHHBY) and Regeneron (REGN) in efficacy trials coupling Inovio's DNA-based cancer immunotherapies with checkpoint inhibitors designed to increase response rates with data expected in 2019." ANALYST RAISES PRICE TARGET: Stifel analyst Stephen Willey resumed coverage of Inovio with a Buy rating and $8 price target, citing his favorable view of the clinical risk underlying the ongoing Phase 3 VGX-3100 development program in patients with HPV+ cervical HSIL. He sees the company's earlier-stage immuno-oncology development efforts and externally-funded infectious diseases programs as additional sources of longer-term upside. PRICE ACTION: Shares of Inovio Pharmaceuticals are up over 16% to $6.22 per share in afternoon trading.

As of September 19, 2018, there was one complete response and three partial responses from the first 14 evaluable patients. In addition, there were eight patients with stable disease who had tumor reductions of up to 16% and who are still being actively dosed. This differs from current standard of care where the doses of both gemcitabine and Abraxane, when given in combination, may have to be reduced to avoid grade 3 and 4 dose limiting toxicities," added CEO Peter Suzdak.

GE... | Hot Stocks10:42 EDT RBC Capital, Wolfe Research say buy GE following CEO change - Both RBC Capital analyst Deane Dray and Wolfe Research analyst Nigel Coe upgraded General Electric (GE) to Outperform after the company announced that H. Lawrence Culp, Jr. was named chairman and CEO, replacing John Flannery. But not all were as bullish on the stock after the news, with Moody's Investors Service placing the ratings of General Electric and GE Capital Global on review for downgrade, and JPMorgan analyst Stephen Tusa saying that the CEO change is a "negative surprise" that raises questions as to whether there are "serious issues at play." BUY GE: Following the CEO change, RBC Capital's Dray upgraded General Electric to Outperform from Sector Perform and raised his price target on the stock to $15 from $13. While acknowledging that there is "still much to fix" and it will take time to assemble a team/triage the problems and put an imprint on the breakup plan, the analyst argued that a "floor has now been put in." Dray would not be surprised to see Culp try to persuade his longtime CFO at Danaher (DHR), Dan Comas, to join him at GE, and also anticipates seeing some senior-level departures at GE as part of this management shakeup. Meanwhile, Wolfe Research's Coe also upgraded General Electric to Outperform from Sector Perform and raised his price target on the stock to $16 from $15. The analyst noted that the appointment of Culp is a "game changer" in a number of respects, since it is a definitive signal of cultural change, performance accountability and that current problems are fixable. With Culp at the helm, the analyst told investors he "can have more confidence in strategic and tactical execution." Nonetheless, the analyst acknowledged that there are "still plenty of uncertainties." Also commenting on the news, Citi analyst Andrew Kaplowitz told investors in a research note of his own that he believes this is "a new beginning" for General Electric. While the Power business is "dramatically worse" than he thought, a "proven outside leader" can immediately accelerate the pace of change and execution, he contended. The analyst argued that the management change is bigger and more forward looking than the $23B non-cash impairment the company will take on its Power business. Kaplowitz reiterated a Buy rating on the shares. NEGATIVE SURPRISE: More bearish on the news, JPMorgan's Tusa said the timing and format of GE's CEO change announcement is a negative surprise that raises questions as to whether there are "serious issues at play." While the selection of ex-Danaher CEO Larry Culp is a positive for investor confidence and the change brings the company a step closer to a real reset, the details on how potentially bad things actually are have not been shared and Tusa sees a dividend cut and potential equity raise as likely. The analyst reiterated an Underweight rating and $10 price target on GE shares. Meanwhile, Moody's Investors Service placed the ratings of General Electric and GE Capital Global on review for downgrade, including the A2 senior unsecured debt rating and the P-1 short-term rating. A potential downgrade of the long-term ratings of GE and GE Capital may not be limited to one notch. This rating review was prompted by GE's announcement that it will fall short of its guidance for free cash flow and EPS for 2018 and that it expects to take a goodwill impairment charge related to the Power business that is likely to constitute substantially all of Power's current goodwill balance of approximately $23B. The change in GE's CEO and chairman was an additional consideration for the review. WHAT'S NOTABLE: Emerson (EMR) announced it has agreed to acquire Intelligent Platforms, a division of General Electric. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of fiscal 2019, subject to regulatory approvals, GE's consultation with employee representatives where required and other customary closing conditions. PRICE ACTION: In morning trading, shares of GE have dropped almost 2% to $11.90.

TSLA | Hot Stocks08:34 EDT Tesla says accelerating construction of Shanghai factory
|
TSLA | Hot Stocks08:33 EDT Tesla: Overall target of 100,000 Model S, X deliveries in 2018 'unchanged' - Tesla says: "Tesla continues to lack access to cash incentives available to locally produced electric vehicles in China that are typically around 15% of MSRP or more. Taking ocean transport costs and import tariffs into account, Tesla is now operating at a 55% to 60% cost disadvantage compared to the exact same car locally produced in China. This makes for a challenging competitive environment, given that China is by far the largest market for electric vehicles. To address this issue, we are accelerating construction of our Shanghai factory, which we expect to be a capital efficient and rapid buildout, using many lessons learned from the Model 3 ramp in North America. With production stabilized, delivery and outbound vehicle logistics were our main challenges during Q3. We made many improvements to these processes throughout the quarter, and plan to make further improvements in Q4 so that we can scale successfully. As part of this effort, we plan to continue to expand direct deliveries to customers at their home or office, a service we launched in Q3 to improve customer convenience. 8,048 Model 3 vehicles and 3,776 Model S and X vehicles were in transit to customers at the end of Q3, and will be delivered in early Q4. Our overall target of 100,000 Model S and X deliveries in 2018 remains unchanged."

TSLA | Hot Stocks08:33 EDT Tesla: Demand for Model S, X 'remains high'
|
TSLA | Hot Stocks08:32 EDT Tesla: Q3 deliveries totaled 83,500 vehicles, including 55,840 Model 3 - Q3 deliveries totaled 83,500 vehicles: 55,840 Model 3, 14,470 Model S, and 13,190 Model X.
|
TSLA | Hot Stocks08:32 EDT Tesla says produced 80,142 vehicles in Q3, 50% more than prior all-time high - Tesla says: "In Q3, we produced 80,142 vehicles, 50% more than our prior all-time high in Q2, including: 53,239 Model 3 vehicles, which was in line with our guidance and almost double the volume of Q2. During Q3, we transitioned Model 3 production from entirely rear wheel drive at the beginning of the quarter to almost entirely dual motor during the last few weeks of the quarter. This added significant complexity, but we successfully executed this transition and ultimately produced more dual motor than rear wheel drive cars in Q3. In the last week of the quarter, we produced over 5,300 Model 3 vehicles, almost all of which were dual motor, meaning that we achieved a production rate of more than 10,000 drive units per week. 26,903 Model S and X vehicles, which was slightly higher than Q2 and in line with our full-year guidance. Q3 deliveries totaled 83,500 vehicles: 55,840 Model 3, 14,470 Model S, and 13,190 Model X. To put this in perspective, in just Q3, we delivered more than 80% of the vehicles that we delivered in all of 2017, and we delivered about twice as many Model 3s as we did in all previous quarters combined. Our Q3 Model 3 deliveries were limited to higher-priced variants, cash/loan transactions, and North American customers only. There remain significant opportunities to grow the addressable market for Model 3 by introducing leasing, standard battery and other lower-priced variants of the car, and by starting international deliveries. Demand for Model S and X remains high. In Q3, we were able to significantly increase Model S and X deliveries notwithstanding the headwinds we have been facing from the ongoing trade tensions between the US and China. Those trade tensions have resulted in an import tariff rate of 40% on Tesla vehicles versus 15% for other imported cars in China."

YTEN | Hot Stocks08:15 EDT Yield10 Bioscience receives positive response from USDA-APHIS's BRS - Yield10 Bioscience announced that it has received a positive response from the USDA-APHIS's Biotechnology Regulatory Services, or BRS, confirming that its genome-edited Camelina sativa plant lines developed using CRISPR-Cas9 for increased oil content are not regulated articles under BRS regulations. This clarification of the regulatory status of the triple genome-edited Camelina plant lines accelerates the path to conducting field trials in the United States in 2019. Preliminary results obtained by Yield10 in greenhouse studies suggest that the triple-edited Camelina lines may have the potential to increase oil content and to improve the quality of the oil. Yield10 intends to study these plant lines in field tests planned for 2019 in the U.S. as part of its development program to increase oil and seed yield in Camelina and canola for specialty oils applications. The APHIS BRS determination will allow Yield10 Bioscience to conduct field testing of its genome-edited Camelina outside of the Part 340 regulations for genetically engineered organisms. APHIS also noted in its response letter that "the genetic change" of the genome-edited Camelina lines "would not increase its weediness" However, the company will still be required to follow any EPA or FDA regulations that may be applicable to the modified plant line.

Patients who continued on ralinepag in the open-label extension had a median treatment duration of 1.8 years at the time of right heart catheterization. In these patients, sustained improvements from baseline in the original study were observed for PVR and 6MWD. Patients switching from placebo to active drug had a median ralinepag treatment duration of 1.4 years at the time of RHC. In these patients, a similar magnitude of improvement was observed for PVR. In both groups, these long-term changes in PVR and 6MWD were observed in a population where the majority of patients were already receiving dual combination PAH background therapy. Adverse events observed in this extension study were consistent with the known profile of prostacyclin therapies for the management of PAH, with headache and nausea being the most commonly reported. The higher pay comes amid a wave of criticism from politicians, including Senator Bernie Sanders, about its treatment of warehouse workers. $15 MINIMUM WAGE: Earlier this morning, Amazon announced a new $15 minimum wage for all of its U.S. employees. Effective November 1, the higher minimum wage will benefit more than 250,000 Amazon employees -- including part-time and temporary employees -- as well as another 100,000 seasonal employees, the company said. The company said the new minimum wage will also apply to its subsidiaries, including Whole Foods, and that all of its Operations and Customer Service employees will see an increase, including those who are already making $15. Amazon said the effect of the higher pay will be reflected in its forward-looking quarterly guidance. MOUNTING CRITICISM: Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos have been under mounting criticism from Senator Bernie Sanders and other politicians about its pay and the conditions of its warehouses. Sanders and Rep. Ro Khanna last month introduced legislation to tax corporations for every dollar that their low-wage workers receive in government health-care benefits or food stamps. The bill, called the Stop Bad Employers by Zeroing Out Subsidies, or BEZOS, Act, is aimed at companies like Amazon and Walmart (WMT), whose workers rely on public assistance. Sanders had previously targeted Amazon and CEO Jeff Bezos, contrasting Bezos' wealth -- he has a net worth of over $168B -- with reports that Amazon's warehouse workers are paid less than industry averages and many rely on food stamps. In a statement today, Bezos said "We listened to our critics, thought hard about what we wanted to do, and decided we want to lead. We're excited about this change and encourage our competitors and other large employers to join us." Additionally, Jay Carney, the SVP of Amazon Global Corporate Affairs said, "We will be working to gain Congressional support for an increase in the federal minimum wage. The current rate of $7.25 was set nearly a decade ago... We intend to advocate for a minimum wage increase that will have a profound impact on the lives of tens of millions of people and families across this country." The company added that it will continue to provide comprehensive healthcare on day 1, company-paid life and disability insurance, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, 401k matching, and Career Choice, which pre-pays 95% of associates' tuition for courses in high-demand fields, whether those jobs are at Amazon or another company. PRICE ACTION: Shares of Amazon are fractionally lower in pre-market trading.

Results were presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes congress 2018 with simultaneous publication in The Lancet. The study was initiated in July 2015 and GSK remained committed to completing it following an announcement in July 2017 of GSK's intention to cease further R&D, manufacturing and sales activity for albiglutide. Prior studies of GLP-1 receptor agonists when used in patients with diabetes and CV disease had provided inconsistent results regarding the potential benefit, and GSK believed that the data generated from this study could contribute important new evidence to the field. The primary outcome showed that albiglutide, administered subcutaneously once-weekly in 9463 patients over a median period of 1.6 years, was superior to placebo in reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events by 22% when used in addition to standard of care in patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Dr John Lepore, Senior Vice President R&D Pipeline, GSK said: "Harmony Outcomes was an important study for us to complete to generate new data and insights about the role of the GLP-1 receptor agonist class in the management of patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease. GSK continued to invest in this study following a decision last year to cease all other activities on albiglutide, and we continue to explore opportunities to divest this medicine to a company with the right expertise and resources to realise its full potential for patients."

RDS.A RDS.B | Hot Stocks06:08 EDT Shell Canada Energy gives green light to invest in LNG Canada - Shell Canada Energy, an affiliate of Royal Dutch Shell, announced it has taken a final investment decision on LNG Canada, a major liquified natural gas project in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, in which Shell has a 40% working interest. With LNG Canada's joint venture participants also having taken FID, construction will start immediately with first LNG expected before the middle of the next decade. Shell's 40% share of the project's capital cost is within the company's current overall capital investment guidance of $25-$30 billion per year. "We believe LNG Canada is the right project, in the right place, at the right time," said Ben van Beurden, CEO, Royal Dutch Shell. "Supplying natural gas over the coming decades will be critical as the world transitions to a lower carbon energy system. Global LNG demand is expected to double by 2035 compared with today, with much of this growth coming from Asia where gas displaces coal. LNG Canada is well positioned to help Shell meet the growing needs of customers at a time when we see an LNG supply shortage in our outlook. With significant integration advantages from the upstream through to trading, LNG Canada is expected to deliver Shell an integrated internal rate of return of some 13%, while the cash flow it generates is expected to be significant, long life and resilient." LNG Canada is a long life asset that will initially export LNG from two processing units or "trains" totaling 14 million tonnes per annum, with the potential to expand to four trains in the future. It is advantaged by access to abundant, low-cost natural gas from British Columbia's vast resources and the relatively short shipping distance to North Asia, which is about 50% shorter than from the US Gulf of Mexico and avoids the Panama Canal. The LNG export facility will be constructed using proven industry technology on a large, partially developed industrial site with an existing deep-water port, roads, rail and power supplies. The project was planned and designed by working closely with local communities, First Nations and governments to ensure sustainable development was considered in every aspect of the project. For example, the project has been designed to achieve the lowest carbon intensity of any LNG project in operation today, aided by the partial use of hydropower.
