19:29 EDT On The Fly: Top five weekend stock stories - Catch up on the weekend's top five stories with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Canada, the EU, Japan, Mexico and South Korea will meet in Geneva next week to discuss how to respond to threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on U.S. imports of autos and car parts, according to Reuters, citing officials familiar with the matter. Publicly traded companies in the space include Daimler AG (DDAIF), Fiat Chrysler (FCAU), Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Nissan (NSANY), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VLKAY). 2. BMW (BMWYY) is planning to raise the prices of two U.S.-made crossover sport-utility vehicles in China to cope with the additional cost of tariffs on U.S. car imports, according to Reuters. Meanwhile, U.S. manufacturers are also said to be charging more to cope with rising steel and aluminum costs, The Wall Street Journal reported. Polaris Industries (PII) is raising prices on its boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles and other recreational vehicles to cover $15M of the $40M in tariff-related costs the manufacturer expects to pay for foreign-made steel, aluminum and components from China this year, the report noted. CEO Scott Wine said Polaris would accelerate plans to move production of motorcycles that it sells in Europe to Poland from Iowa to avoid rising European Union tariffs on U.S. motorcycles, a similar plan to the one announced by Harley-Davidson (HOG) in June, the publication added. 3. Facebook (FB) looks like a bargain after its recent tumble given its rarity and the company's strong balance sheet, Andrew Bary wrote in this week's edition of Barron's. The bearish argument is that Facebook is peaking, as user growth slows and expense growth outpaces revenue gains, but Facebook remains a powerful platform, with 1.5B daily users, strong engagement and no major competitor, he added. 4. Viacom (VIAB) owned Paramount's "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" opened to $61.5M from 4,306 theaters in North America, a franchise-high. Overseas, the movie earned $92M from its first 36 markets for a series-high global bow of $153.5M. "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" earned an A CinemaScore and sports a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score. 5. UnitedHealth (UNH), AO Smith (AOS), Zoetis (ZTS), MasterCard (MA), Nvidia (NVDA), Triton International (TRTN), Eli Lilly (LLY) and Fiat Chrysler saw positive mentions in Barron's.

18:16 EDT Macquarie Infrastructure enters into agreement to sell Bayonne Energy Center - MIC - Macquarie Infrastructure Corporation - announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell 100% of the Bayonne Energy Center power generation facility in Bayonne, New Jersey for approximately $900M in cash and assumed debt. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2018, subject to receipt of customary regulatory and other approvals. The transaction values BEC at approximately $1,400 per kilowatt of generating capacity. MIC anticipates using part of the net proceeds of approximately $650M, after transaction fees and expenses, to reduce debt including $150M outstanding on the revolving credit facility at the company's IMTT business. MIC expects its ratio of net debt to EBITDA to be less than 4.5 times at year end 2018. Proceeds not used to reduce debt will be available to fund a portion of MIC's planned growth capital deployments. The MIC Board will consider options for returning any excess capital to shareholders. MIC expects taxable gain from the sale of BEC to utilize the majority of its federal prior year Net Operating Loss carry-forward although the company expects to be able to offset future federal taxable income with the tax benefits associated with planned growth capital deployments.

17:40 EDT Kaskela Law announces shareholder class action lawsuit against Facebook - Kaskela Law announces that a shareholder class action lawsuit has been filed against Facebook on behalf of purchasers of the company's securities between April 26, 2018 and July 25, 2018, inclusive. On July 25, 2018, Facebook announced its financial and operating results for the second quarter of 2018, including revenue and user numbers that fell short of market expectations. During a subsequent conference call, Facebook's Chief Financial Officer reported that the company "expect[s] currency to be a slight headwind in the second half versus the tailwinds we have experienced over the last several quarters," and that the company "plan[s] to grow and promote certain engaging experiences like Stories that currently have lower levels of monetization." Following these disclosures, shares of Facebook's stock declined $41.24 per share, or 19%, to close at $176.26 on July 26, 2018. The shareholder class action complaint alleges that Facebook and certain other defendants made a series of false and misleading statements during the Class Period and failed to disclose material adverse facts to investors about the company's business, operations and prospects. The complaint further alleges that, due to defendants' conduct, investors purchased Facebook's securities at artificially inflated prices during the Class Period and suffered significant investment losses following the defendants' disclosures.
