G7 TRADE TALKS: President Donald Trump, heading into this weekend's meeting of the Group of Seven industrialized nations, has signaled his intention to continue pursuing an aggressive trade agenda even if it comes at the expense of the country's standing in the world, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. The immediate focus of the talks - which include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. - will be the Trump administration's decision last week to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from fellow G-7 countries. Meanwhile, China is reportedly prepared to sign off on Qualcomm's (QCOM) deal to buy NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) in the wake of the resolution of the enforcement action on China's ZTE, according to The Wall Street Journal, which quoted sources saying the Qualcomm-NXP deal "should be cleared very soon" after Chinese regulators had been working with Qualcomm's legal department. 3. TWITTER RULING: President Donald Trump and one of his top aides appealed a federal court ruling that said the president was violating the constitutional rights of individuals he has blocked from viewing his personal Twitter (TWTR) feed, according to Politico. U.S. FARMERS: President Trump tweeted on Monday, "Farmers have not been doing well for 15 years. Mexico, Canada, China and others have treated them unfairly.
