RDUS | Hot Stocks14:39 EDT Radius Health initiates Phase 3 study of abaloparatide in osteoporosis - Radius Health announced that the company has initiated the Phase 3 Atom study of abaloparatide injection for the treatment of osteoporosis in men. "Approximately 20 percent of men over the age of 50 years will sustain an osteoporotic-related fracture in their lifetime attributed to multiple risk factors. If successful, this study will serve as the basis of a supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) seeking to expand the use of abaloparatide to treat men with osteoporosis at high risk for fracture," said Gary Hattersley, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer of Radius Health. "The study will also include specialized high-resolution imaging to examine the effect of abaloparatide on bone structure, such as the hip, in a subset of the study participants." The primary endpoint of the male osteoporosis study is change in lumbar spine bone mineral density at 12 months compared with placebo. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial will enroll approximately 225 men with osteoporosis. Abaloparatide, marketed as Tymlos, was approved in April 2017 by the FDA for the treatment of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis at high risk for fracture.

The stock closed yesterday up 10c to $43.33. "Coca-Cola does not endorse TRC Capital's offer. The Company recommends that shareholders reject the offer and not tender their shares in response because the offer is at a price below the current market price for Coca-Cola shares and is subject to many conditions. TRC Capital's offer price is approximately 4.51 percent below the closing share price of Coca-Cola common stock ($43.46) on March 16, 2018, the day before the offer commenced. The offer is for less than 0.06 percent of Coca-Cola's outstanding shares," Coke announced in a statement. It added, "TRC Capital's offer states that it may terminate or amend the offer if, among other things, the market price of Coca-Cola's stock declines or if TRC Capital fails to obtain financing necessary. Coca-Cola is not associated with TRC Capital or its offer."

The companies amended the agreement this month, and JinkoSolar will supply NextEra Energy with up to 2,750 megawatts of high-efficiency solar modules - roughly 7M solar panels - over approximately four years. In conjunction with this agreement, JinkoSolar is opening its first U.S. factory in Jacksonville, Florida, which is expected to create more than 200 direct jobs in Florida and support hundreds of additional local jobs in shipping and other related industries. Once fully operational, JinkoSolar's factory in Jacksonville is expected to have the capacity to build 400 megawatts of solar modules annually - more than 1M solar panels a year. Production is expected to begin later this year. JinkoSolar anticipates using the Port of Jacksonville for a large volume of importing and exporting activities.

The Oncotype DX AR-V7 Nucleus Detect test is a circulating tumor cell-based, liquid biopsy test that is commercially available in the United States through Epic's partnership with Genomic Health. "Prior to the Oncotype DX AR-V7 Nucleus Detect test, there was no clear consensus on therapeutic sequencing after initial exposure to an ARSi therapy, and the most common clinical decision in mCRPC was whether to start a second ARSi or taxane chemotherapy," Epic and Genomic write. Murali Prahalad, CEO of Epic Sciences, said, "The rapid issuance of the draft LCD recommending Medicare coverage highlights the clinical utility and value of this new test in prolonging survival for men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer."
