20:02 EDT On The Fly: Top five weekend stock stories - Catch up on the weekend's top five stories with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Harvey made landfall late Friday night as a Category 4 storm, with sustained winds of 130mph. The storm was the first Category 4 hurricane to hit the continental U.S. in over a decade. Winds slowed throughout the day Saturday, with Harvey becoming a tropical storm by afternoon. Several public companies, including Home Depot (HD), Western Union (WU), Humana (HUM), Aetna (AET) and United Arlines (UAL), have offered support to humanitarian organizations on the ground and to people affected by the storm. 2. Perfumania (PERF) has initiated a recapitalization to be facilitated through a pre-packaged Plan of Reorganization to reduce its retail store count to better align with current consumer shopping patterns, increase investments in its e-commerce business, and become a privately-held company. To effectuate this, the company, and certain of its subsidiaries, filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 relief in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. 3. While Elon Musk's SpaceX has grabbed a leading market share in commercial satellite launches, Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon (AMZN) and privately owned Blue Horizon, has said he wants to compete on launches and has a vision of moving manufacturing to space, Jack Hough wrote in this week's edition of Barron's. However, public investors may be best off staying clear of the upheaval in commercial satellites, and focusing instead on exposure to the U.S. defense and intelligence sectors, Barron's argued, adding that Goldman Sachs predicts spending there will grow 6% a year, compounded, over the next five years, benefiting names like Boeing (BA), Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Orbital ATK (OA). 4. In the worst weekend in years, Lionsgate' (LGF.A) action comedy "Hitman's Bodyguard" topped all films for the second week with an estimated $10M in ticket sales for a domestic total of $39.6M. For many, the weekend's top entertainment option was Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor match. 5. Medtronic (MDT), Yum China (YUMC), PayPal (PYPL), Infosys (INFY) and Broadcom (AVGO) saw positive mentions in Barron's.
