The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Ford (F) Explorers and Police Interceptors made from 2011 to 2017, and Police Interceptors from 2016 and 2017 to see if exhaust fumes can make their way to drivers and other occupants, according to The New York Times. The agency said it received 2,700 complaints from people who claim they have been exposed to exhaust fumes or carbon monoxide while in the vehicles, the publication noted. 2. ON Semiconductor (ON) reported Q2 EPS of 22c, and revenue of $1.34B. The company also reported non-GAAP income before income taxes $171.1M versus $96.7M last year, and said it sees Q3 revenue of $1.34B-$1.39B, with consensus at $1.35B. 3. Delta Air Lines (DAL) shares could rise 35% in the next two years, Andrew Bary wrote in this week's edition of Barron's. At $50, Delta's shares trade at about nine times estimated 2017 earnings, which is "inexpensive" for a company looking to post double-digit earnings growth in the coming years, Bary noted, adding that a 50% dividend hike in September will lift the yield to 2.4%. 4. While Sony's (SNE) "The Dark Tower" managed to notch a number one bow, it only grossed an estimated $19.5M in North America, the lowest number one opening of the year. Made for about $66M counting reshoots, the story centers on a boy played by Tom Taylor who discovers another dimension where he aligns himself with a Gunslinger on a mission to save the world from various enemies. 5. Voya (VOYA), Southern Company (SO), CEVA (CEVA), Cirrus Logic (CRUS), Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), Finisar (FNSR), Lumentum Holdings (LITE), II-VI (IIVI), Viavi Solutions (VIAV), Oneok (OKE), Valero Energy (VLO), Exxon Mobil (XOM), Phillips 66 (PSX), Marathon Petroleum (MPC), and ConocoPhillips (COP) saw positive mentions in Barron's, while Tesla (TSLA) was mentioned cautiously.
